The refurbishment markets in Germany declined last year due to the reluctance of private homeowners and institutional clients to invest. Most measures and product sales in existing buildings declined significantly, with the exception of heating system replacements and the installation of photovoltaic systems. However, positive momentum is emerging at the start of 2024: refurbishment activity has increased compared to the previous year and the volume of postponed measures has fallen significantly.
